Hilarie founded Sepia Archival Management in 2021. Her work ensures that archival materials are not only organized and sustained, but thoughtfully stewarded so their meaning endures.

Prior to launching Sepia, she spent 15 years in marketing, where she owned and operated a consultancy advising online retailers on strategy and campaign implementation. She also maintained a freelance writing practice, publishing narrative nonfiction in The Baltimore Sun, Scary Mommy, Kveller and Beliefnet.

Professional Contributions
Hilarie has served on the Steering Committee of the Chicago Area Archivists (CAA) since 2024, serving as the chair for the 2025-2026 year.
She treasures this chance to provide support, leadership and strategic direction to the regional archival community.
Hilarie has been published in Archival Outlook magazine, contributing perspectives on archival processing and community-centered collections.

Experience
Hilarie has consulted for a stable of clients around the Chicago area including the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, the Union League Club of Chicago, Glenview Hangar One Foundation, Chicago Public Art Group, Natya Dance Theatre, Christ Church Cathedral (St. Louis) and more.
"It has been a blessing and a joy to work with Hilarie Pitman Pozesky as she carefully assessed our 207-year-old cathedral archive, built policies for its best use and a clear and strong plan for moving forward. She consistently went above and beyond to support us. Her enthusiasm is contagious, and her knowledge is all encompassing. We were so impressed, we hired her for the next stage, guiding us in the hiring of a process archivist and now overseeing that work. I strongly recommend her and Sepia Archival Management; you will not be disappointed."
